Your new favourite Wrexham band.. Heal The Last Stand

by Ben Davis on 17 January, 2008 | 2 comments

Heal The Last Stand are picking up where Mooi left off. When Mooi decided to call it a day a couple of years back they left a large hole in the spectrum of our music scene, which hasn’t been filled in since. Until now. Heal The Last Stand are providing us with achingly graceful melodies, soaring vocals and inspirational lyrics.

I’ve not heard harmonies like this from a band in Wrexham since aforementioned Mooi graced our receivers. When I say harmonies I mean harmonies on the scale of RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL. Take ‘To See It All’ for example, when the chorus flares up you have to be clinically dead to deny the warming vocals blowing straight between your ears.

Heal The Last Stand are Joey Dickenson (ex-Cream Tangerine), Thom Bithell (Arnie), Laura Dickenson (ex-Mooi) and Stan Dickenson (Arnie). Yes – Joey, Laura and Stan are siblings, how could they not be when the band have only been together for a matter of month’s and they sound as tight as Russell Brand’s drainpipes.

I suggest you take a listen to the four songs they have uploaded to their myspace page (link below). I guarantee you will be returning every day to get your vaccine. Extremely effective during these dark and dismal months.

  1. I totally agree. A great set on Wednesday at the Old Swan. Not only were the harmonies tight – the space on stage was too, especially with the extra Thom. Not enough for Stan! They still held it all together though.

  2. Just to let you know that Heal the Last Stand are so good they are playing Glastonbury tomorrow in the Green Fuse tent in the Green Futures field. Good luck HTLS – not that you’ll need it 😉
