Having taken part in one of North America’s largest music industry events last month – the NXNE 2012 festival in Toronto – The Roseville Band have this week been declared ‘International Standout Act’ by the festival.
Earlier this year the band performed in Canada as part of the Canadian Music Week conference, where they were showcased alongside hundreds of acts from across the globe, including the likes of The Temper Trap and Slash. The experience culminated in an invitation for them to showcase at the NXNE festival.
NXNE 2012 was headlined by The Flaming Lips. There were 800 bands and over 2,000 music industry delegates in attendance at the festival. The band played 6 shows in Toronto as part of the festival leading to one leading Canadian publication naming them ‘The standout band of NXNE!’.
Vocalist Andy Jones stated:
‘It was an amazing festival for us to be a part of! So to be given this award by the festival is mind blowing, considering the hundreds of bands that were involved!’
The award also comes with a £1,000 prize, which the band intend to put towards the recording of their 3rd album. The band say that they are currently in advanced discussions with “leading Canadian music industry figures”. They hope to make a further announcement regarding this in the near future.
