The Gashienda move to Central

The Gashienda night is making its debut at Central Station on Thursday 16th April. To kick off at their new home they have Joe Carnall & The Book Club playing, Joe being the ex lead singer of Sheffield’s second favourite band Milburn, the first being the Arctics, obvs.
I never really got Milburn as a band – they seemed to be just riding the wave of everyone’s fascination with the aforementioned Arctic Monkeys and they really were the product of over excited record labels tapping the same source and running it dry. I’m glad to say that Joe and his Book Club are a far cry from his previous dwellings and any kind of new indie band stereotype. You won’t find them all dressed in black leather jackets sporting long floppy fringes or adorned with trilbies and rosemary beads to portray an image of bohemian difference.
The support bands for this gig are worth the entrance fee alone – No Room For Heroes, Trader and The Scene. Doors are 7:30pm and it’s £5 entry.
