by Ben Davis on 28 January, 2010 | 0 comments
One of Wrexham’s most promising promoting agencies The Faction will be celebrating their 1st birthday on Friday 19th February at the Bradley Cricket Club.
To mark this special achievement they have invited back some of the great Wrexham bands that have played their gigs over the past 12 months.
Here is the lowdown:
JKLMNO
JKLMNO are now a well established band who have grown to become a serious contender for the big time. With appearances at the Benacissim Festival in Spain following a triumphant win at the Supajam competition and releasing their 4 track ‘Transitions’ EP (which will be on sale at the gig) contributing to this. This is their first gig of 2010 and could well be their last due to other commitments.

Polly Mackey & The Pleasure Principle
Now anyone within the music scene in and around Wrexham will have no doubt heard of the name Polly Mackey. In talks with record labels and creating a stir as a result of her oustanding successes in 2009, she just keeps on getting bigger. Gaining such accolaides as winning the same Supajam competition as our headliners to play the FIB Festival, Benicassim, Spain. Polly and the boys have also won the MIBI Song Wrtiting Awards as well as played the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, and this year being invited back to play again in March. Polly and the gang are also playing HMV’S new festival “The Next Big Thing!” at the start of February with 2010 looking very promising indeed.

Danny Gruff
He’s been with The Faction from the very start and now he’s back. With another EP due out on the horizon at the end of February, expect another mixed array of quality tunes and covers. Danny is also currently well into his 30 Songs in 30 Days challenege where he’s recording 30 songs in 30 days!
