Calon Uncut presenter Steve Dwight with
Parody and Station Manager Oliver Pscherer
“A nice and cosy family”
That’s how Matt from the Wrexham band Parody describes the local music scene.
“Throughout the years it has developed and the strong connection between the bands is great.”
Once again a Wrexham band found its way into the studios of Calon FM, the new Community Radio for Wrexham to talk about their plans, issues and music. But also to play unplugged a few of their songs and present them to the ‘Calon Uncut’ audience.
Presenter Steve Dwight says “If this type of opportunity existed when I was a younger musician many more people would have had the chance to hear us and find out about our band.”
Dale,17 (drums, lead vocals), Matt,18 (guitar, lead vocals), Danny,23 (bass guitar) and Josh, 16 (lead guitar) make it very clear when they talk about their music influences and ideas.
Dale, “Oasis, Pink Floyd and The Beatles. I write songs about how I’m feeling. When an event happens, recently one of my friends died, I write about it. ‘Backtrack’ is the title of this particular song in his memory.”
Parody play regularly in Central Station in Wrexham and in the Five Crosses in Coedpoeth. Their next gig will be on 18th October in Coedpoeth. Find out more about Parody at www.myspace.com/parodywrexham.
Station Managers Nadira Tudor & Oliver Pscherer, “The link between wrexhammusic.co.uk and Calon FM is providing an excellent way for local bands and talents in the Wrexham area to connect with their audience. It’s very important for us as a community radio station to support the Wrexham music scene with this unique facility like the radio show Calon Uncut.”

It’s probably best to contact the presenter, Steve Dwight, direct but I don’t know his email or tel. Might be worth ringing the station up, it’s too easy to ignore an email!
