Brave new twee EP

Baby Brave and the Love Bites have released their new EP ‘The Hornet’s Nest of Unrequited Ambition That Was 1960’s Vogue’. The EP features 5 tracks of some of the most twee pop music you are likely to hear any time soon – and it is brilliant!
The recording (out on local label Drum With Our Hands) is so saccharin sweet that we think there has to be something deeply wrong bubbling beneath the surface here. We’ll eat our hats if they don’t get a slot at this years Indietracks festival (as the band seem made for it).
The EP isn’t however purely twee retro-pop. Some folky moments creep in particularly on ‘Take Your Castle To Spain’ (think Noah and the Whale).
The Phil Spector style production on ‘Hedgehog’ shows there is also a more complex side to Baby Brave (marking them out as being far more than Camera Obscura wannabies).
These 5 tracks are a great introduction to the band and we can’t wait to hear what they come up with next.
The Baby Brave EP is released on 5 different CD versions (with vintage style envelope packaging and matching on-body artwork). One of the packaging options has already sold out so be quick if you want a copy. For those of you who don’t care about such physical considerations the EP is available to download in several formats as well at bandcamp here.
While you are having a look at the Drum With Our Hands bandcamp page have a listen to their Sampler #1 which is packed with other great local music.
