Mani to DJ at debut Zodiac Club night

A new monthly night is coming to Wrexham town in October, The Zodiac Club, based at L’etage on Abbot Street will be celebrating the best in vintage Northern Soul, 60s Funk, Ska, Hammond Groove, Club Soul and other Mod-friendly beats.
To launch the night is the one and only Mani of Stone Roses and Primal Scream fame.
Pop cultures may come and go but there’s no denying the enduring quality of Modernists with their sharp dress sense, love of Soul, Ska and R&B and of course their primary method of transport, the Italian Scooter.
One such scooter nut is bass-wielding Mancunian, Mani, whose love of music only just surpasses his love of Football and Mod culture.
Since packing in the booze and living a pretty much saintly existence by all accounts, Mani is the first to admit that he’s got too much time on his hands and a lot of energy to go with it – so much so he’s taking time out from his full-time job in Primal Scream and running his own Mod night to launch The Zodiac Club at L’etage.
As the man himself puts it “The Stone Roses met through a scooter club in Chorlton – they were called the Chorlton Trojans so really it’s been in my blood since I was young, I’m hoping we can really kick something off!”
“One thing’s for sure though – they’ll be none of that electro dance indie-pop and I won‘t be playing anything at all that I’ve had anything to do with let alone played on – that’s guaranteed!”
Tickets are £9 advance or £10 on the door and doors open 9pm on Friday 2nd October. For more information call 07876 303527.
