Indie Hero Plays New Wrexham Club Night
by Ben Davis on 17 October, 2007 | 0 comments
An EXTREMELY rare UK show by SONIC BOOM (from Spacemen 3 + Spectrum).
He’ll be playing a set made up of Spacemen 3 and Spectrum tracks!!!
Support will be coming from rising Welsh stars Threatmantics and local heroes Arnie!
An absolute musical legend – pioneer of drone music (his band mate Jason Pierce went on to form Spiritualized). Spacemen 3 heavily influenced the sound of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Warlocks, The Beta Band etc. A Spacemen 3 tribute album released in 1998 features tracks by Arab Strap and Mogwai. This is how influential they were!!!
Pete Kember’s (AKA sonic boom) later work with Spectrum and under other names has continued his groundbreaking electronic sound.
