Following from their slot at the Radio 1 Big Weekend Festival back in May, Gallops have been booked to HEADLINE this years BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival in August.

The BBC Introducing stage which is now in it’s third year at the festival, showcases new bands and musicians. Most of the acts on the line-up have bagged themselves slot after being recommended by local BBC Introducing radio show teams and others were chosen in collaboration with Leeds venue The Cockpit and organisers Festival Republic.

The timing couldn’t be better as they release their debut EP in September. Some people might consider this just another notch on the bedpost for the Gallops story but believe me, this is big – you just have to look at previous headliners of the BBC Introducing stage at the festival, namely the now huge Florence & the Machine.

The news comes after a flurry of truly brilliant happenings for Gallops, as they recently had their music featured on a national TV advert and had their debut airing from BBC 1 legend Zane Lowe.

If this week couldn’t get any better for our Wrexham ambassadors, they are playing the Big Chill Festival down in Herefordshire this weekend.

Gallops headline the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading & Leeds Festival in Reading, Sunday 29th August 2010 and Leeds, Saturday 28th August 2010.

  3. I loved this year’s festival and I got to see the Gallops and My Chemical Romance which really made my summer. I had a wonderful time with friends and can’t wait to go again next year.
