Wrexham’s very own Danny Gruff will be supporting Ska Legend Terry Hall on the 5th September at the Ironworks in Oswestry, where Hall will be doing a DJ set.
Terry Hall first hit fame as the frontman of Ska band, The Specials. Over their career, they have had many hits including Too Much Too Young, Message to you Rudy and Ghost Town. In the late 1970’s/early 1980’s, The Specials were known as one of most successful Ska bands in history before splitting up, but in 2008, Hall stated that the Specials will be reforming. This year, The Specials have played to a sell out UK tour which has also included slots at major festivals including being just below Neil Young at Glastonbury.
Danny Gruff is excited by the opportunity to support such a renowned artist, but Danny has also supported big artists such as Shaun Ryder and Goldie Lookin Chain in the same venue previously. Danny is currently promoting his first EP, ‘Last of the big time small Town Lads’, which has received a lot of interest.
Also playing on 5th September will be Alvarez Kings who are set to play Leeds and Reading festival this year. Blindsyde, Skinny White and The Goods will also be playing. Tickets are priced at 10 and are available from the Ironworks in Oswestry or through contacting Danny on his myspace page, www.myspace.com/dannygruff.
