As part of Wrexham’s ‘Year of Culture 2011’, The Foundry Creative Centre for Business and the Arts have come together with Independent Concert Promoters Lateral Arc to present ‘St. Giles’ Sessions’ – four live music concerts at the Parish Church of St. Giles in Wrexham Town Centre.

The concerts will be seasonal, with the Spring and Summer performances taking place in April and July. All of the concerts will be a celebration of the great musical talent Wrexham has to offer, with all of the performers hailing from the local area.

Heal The Last Stand have been booked for the opening concert in the series on Saturday 30th April, bringing their own distinctive blend of Folk Americana to the stage. The band which is made up of siblings Laura, Joey and Stan Dickenson with friend Thom Bithell, started as a search for personal peace, but became a sharing of hope that has taken them thousands of miles from home. As well as performances at UK festivals, including Glastonbury’s 40th Anniversary, they have taken their message on the road across the USA and Spain, as part of their ‘Everlasting Peace Tour’.

The next concert in the series will feature Andy Hickie and the Merry Maidens, and will take place at St. Giles’ on Saturday 2nd July The Autumn and Winter concerts in the ‘St. Giles’ Sessions’ series will take place in October and November.
